Memories & More - Simple, Quick and Easy!

As December fast approaches and the present buying is well under way, suddenly you may be thinking - cards!

If you want to get sending then sure, you need to think about the postal deadlines, which will be heading our way.  But handmade cards are not yet out of your reach.  Stampin' Up! do a great line in ready made elements that are perfect for crafting your own cards on a time budget.

Memories & More - the traditional "go to" for scrapbookers and memory keepers - can be used very happily alongside other products to produce some beautiful cards that you can still say you made and curated yourself, and let's not forget our wonderful Designer Series Paper (or DSP) for quick and easy splashes of colour, pattern and design.

I have here two very simple examples of cards you can whip up in flash!

This first card uses pieces from the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack.  I used one of the larger cards, measuring 10.2 x 15.2cm (or 4" x6") as the stripy matt layer.  You will see a lot of the patterns in this card pack will compliment and echo the Designer Series Paper from the same suite, giving you plenty of coordination.

The smaller card measures 7.6 x 10.2cm (or 3" x4") and provides the perfect sentiment and pop of colour.  No stamping required in this case.  To finish I simply added two punched out trees from some scraps of cardstock and DSP (how perfect is that paper design for the tree!) and used some of the Cherry Cobbler Diagonal Stripe Ribbon for detail.  Mounted on a Sahara Sand card base, it's so simple and yet perfect.

This second card was just as easy.  I cut a piece of the Night Before Christmas DSP, in this case to 10.2cm wide (4").  The image was perfect all by itself and I wanted to celebrate that wonderful trees with Christmas lights design.  A matt layer in Old Olive cut to the same size was just there to peep out from the side and create a little separation from the the Night of Navy card base.  I simply finished it off with a white embossed sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set on Night of Navy, cut out with the Story Label Punch.  This was then mounted on a piece of Sparkle Glimmer Paper cut out with the same punch.

Top Tip:
To make the Glimmer Paper peep out from the top and the bottom I cut the punched shape in half with my Snips and pulled it apart slightly before affixing the Night of Navy piece.  This gives the illusion that you have a larger piece behind, when in fact you have used the same punch!
